Your Time Has Come

We've done it! After two years behind closed doors, the commandos here at Westwood Studios have created Command & Conquer! C&C continues the legacy of Dune II, but it is more - much more. Exciting theatricals, engrossing play, and sounds so encompassing, so immediately overwhelming, you'll think you're there! Even the most steadfast pacifist will be inclined to give up passive resistance, for at least a few hours a day.

WHAT THE HEADLINES SAY

Set in the near future, C&C reveals a world a lot like ours, but with certain disturbing differences. A well- equipped and seemingly unstoppable terrorist organization known as the Brotherhood Of Nod has risen, threatening nothing less than global domination. The only thing standing between Nod's raw ambitions and worldwide stability is the Global Defense Initiative (GDI). Early confrontations seem minor - a skirmish here, an incident there - but before you know it, conflicts escalate into real battles. Conditions shift, no mission is the same, and the mysterious Tiberium, which provides revenue for continued fighting, becomes harder to obtain and process. This is no standard killing ground.

IMPLEMENTS OF DESTRUCTION

Choose your side: will it be GDI or Nod? Weaponry runs the gamut, from the familiar (Hum-vees and assault vehicles of the GDI) to the fantastic (Nod's Obelisk Of Light), but brute force won't always solve your problems. C&C requires forethought and cunning; the weapons and troops are easy to control and deploy, but it's how you use them that will save the world or bring it to its knees.

SIGHT, SOUND AND FURY

Graphics and video engulf you, blurring the line between game and reality. Helicopters whirl into action, intelligence agents are stalked by snipers, planes crash spectacularly into buildings - and you'll be there. Explosions, gunshots, and shouted orders bombard you (try to keep your head)! The warring factions have two entirely different sets of cinematic sequences, led by GDI's calm and resourceful General Sheppard, convincingly evoked by actor Eric Martin, or Nod's charismatic and intense Kane, played with evil aplomb by Joseph Kucan. Frank Klepacki's musical scores combine classical and industrial influences to deliver a driving, aggressive soundtrack that's so cool, we plan to release it on a CD of its own!

SAFETY IN NUMBERS?

Matching wits with a less-than-forgiving computer opponent is one thing. Flesh-and-blood enemies are another challenge entirely. With C&C's multiplay and modem support, you can pummel a dear friend in a modem face-off, or compete with up to four players via a Novell Local Area Network (LAN). The ante is substantially upped, and whether your friends fall to your ruthless assault, or stomp you to bits is out of our hands.

BE ADVISED...

Sun Tzu once said, "Know thyself, know thy enemy and victory shall never be endangered." You'd be wise to heed him. C&C can do many things, but serving you an easy victory is not one of them! It's up to you - your ability to command and your desire to conquer.
