How do I get Kyrandia 3 running under Windows 95?

Follow these simple instructions to enable Kyrandia 3 to work properly under Windows 95.
(It's really quite easy!)


Click START/RUN. Type in D:\INSTALL.EXE (where D is your
CD-ROM drive). Type ENTER.


When the program reaches the SETUP phase, MANUALLY select
your sound card. Do not use the Auto-detect.


To run the program, click the icon under 
START/PROGRAMS/WESTWOOD.

FILE NOT FOUND ERROR or INSERT CD query

If this error appears, you probably don't have enough FILES and BUFFERS allocated in your CONFIG.SYS file. Use the EDIT program in MS-DOM to add the following two lines to your CONFIG.SYS file :

     FILES=45
     BUFFERS=45

If these lines already exist in your CONFIG.SYS file, then change the numbers to 45 or greater.

Insufficient memory error when running in Windows 95.

In some machines, the game will say you have "insufficient memory", even though you have plenty. This tends to only happen under Windows 95. You can either play from DOS mode, or you can edit your Config.sys so that the following line is present:

DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE RAM

It should look just like this, and appear at the top of the file, just under the HIMEM.SYS line if it is present.
